Duncombe Hill
A modern family kitchen made with beautiful, eco-friendly materials with function driving its design.
As part of this South London whole-house renovation we designed a modern, functional kitchen for a young family who love to cook. It was important to our clients to have quick access to their most used kitchen items, and have a very robust, durable worksurface. Taking our cues from industrial kitchens, we designed a space with plenty of open and hanging storage around the cooking area, a stainless steel worksurface, and a generous and well organised pantry to store all of their food items.
We combined the practical, hard wearing steel with warmer materials to ensure it felt like an inviting family kitchen. Chocolate Valchromat doors - made from recycled wood chips, coloured with non-toxic organic dye - compliment the solid maple island and cabinetry. The island is brought to life with a Durat worktop - made from recycled post-industrial waste plastic, which brings out the colours used across the kitchen.
